Based in Machynlleth, mid Wales, we started out on our bumpy roller skating road to Roller Derby at the end of 2009, and we are now trying to get a team or two together.
We currently practice twice a week at
Bro Ddyfi Leisure Centre, Machynlleth
Sundays - 4:00-5:30pm - basic skating
Fridays - 7:00-7:40pm - basic + derby drills
Cost £3 per session

Anyone skating does need to wear protection (leisure centre risk assessment and general self preservation requirements!) - see Gear for what is needed. If you do not want to commit to all the gear, between us we have some spare skates and pads so, if the shoe fits, you can have a go the first few times you come along.
These sessions are primarily aimed at women, as the flat track derby team of the future would be all female - but guys can get involved as refs and officials (as well as women of course!) - so do not feel totally left out. Or, if enough guys come along, you can always form a Merby team.
Roller Derby is a quad skate rather than inline skate sport, but inlines would be fine to get going.
